Dear 2021 Graduates of the Faculty of Medicine,

Your status will soon change from a Vilnius University student to Vilnius University Alumni! We invite you not to disconnect from Alma Mater and register on the alumni platform:

We are pleased to confirm that the award of diplomas this year, as every year, will take place live. We will have a great opportunity to see each other again, share smiles, enjoy communion. Diploma awarding ceremonies will take place in the Grand Courtyard of Vilnius University (VU Central Palace Ensemble, Universiteto str. 3, Vilnius). We invite you to come in business-festive style.

Diploma award ceremonies for foreign students will take place in the following order (signing for the diploma will take place during the ceremony):

  • 2021 June 18 12:00 p.m. for graduates of Medicine study program;
  • 2021 June 30 2 p.m. for graduates of Dentistry Integrated study program who have studied in Lithuanian and English. This ceremony will be held in two languages.

The number of guests is not limited, but we very much hope that all participants will comply with all security requirements. We want not only to have a beautiful celebration, but also to protect all its participants from unwanted consequences. For those unable to attend the celebration, the ceremonies will be broadcast live online.

400 chairs will be prepared for each celebration in the VU Grand Courtyard. Ceremony participants would be able to join the event 30 minutes before the ceremony begins and to take their seats. The ceremony will begin at the exact time indicated by the flag of the Faculty of Medicine insertion.

Diploma award ceremonies will be led by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Algirdas Utkus. Diplomas will be awarded by the Rector or the Vice-Rector. The Dean will wear a toga during the ceremony, but there is no tradition for students at the Faculty of Medicine to dress robes.

Diplomas are presented in alphabetical order. Throughout and after the ceremony, until the Dean of the Faculty and the Rector / Vice-Rector of the University leave the church, everyone remains in their seats. The duration of the ceremony is up to 1.5 hours.
