Today Lithuania commemorates the day of Restoration of Independence.

On 11 March 1990, the Constituent Assembly signed the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania. Lithuania courageously embarked on a journey towards freedom, independence and democracy. Ever since that day, every year on 11 March we remember this event so fundamental to our statehood and remind ourselves how important and precious freedom is.

We hope this occasion will serve as an inspiration to use the freedom we have the best way we can and contribute to the prosperity of society with good deeds and fruitful ideas.

To celebrate this important day, members of the Vilnius University community are invited to a festive concert at St. John's Church.

On this historical day, Vilnius university is glad to welcome its employees, students, alumni and VU seniors, as well as Vilnius residents and guests to a celebratory concert.
