Applications for transfer to the 2023 autumn semester will be accepted ONLY FOR TRANSFERRING TO YEAR 2 in both the MEDICINE and DENSTISTRY study programmes. Students who are currently in year 2 of Medicine or Dentistry studies are therefore welcome to apply!
IMPORTANT! Transfer applications to higher years WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED! It is also not possible to initially be accepted to year 2 and then jump to a higher year. Students who are considering such a possibility should not apply.
IMPORTANT information for Ukrainian and Belarusian citizens: Unfortunately, the tuition fee waiver scholarships for Ukrainian/Belarusian citizens are currently NO LONGER OFFERED at the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University.
General information and requirements for transferring students:
- Students applying for transfer to Medicine or Dentistry have to be a student or have studied Medicine or Dentistry respectively. Students from other study programmes ARE NOT considered for transfer to the Medicine or Dentistry study programmes.
- All transfer students are placed to a lower year (usually 1 year lower if the programmes are comparable) to make up for the programme differences between the two universities. This will prolong your studies.
- Applicants who are about to finish or have just finished year 1 of their studies WILL NOT be considered for transfer. If such applicants would like to study at VU they have to apply for admission from year 1. Further information is available here: https://www.vu.lt/en/studies/bachelor-and-integrated-studies/study-programmes.
- IMPORTANT! It is not possible to do only an internship at VU (this applies to both Medicine and Dentistry). Such separate internship programmes ARE NOT AVAILABLE and ARE NOT OFFERED for non-VU students.
- All applicants ARE REQUIRED to meet all the obligations as VU students, including the FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS. Please make sure you are familiar with the tuition fees at VU MF and you are capable of financing your studies. No exceptions will be made, as NO SCHOLARSHIPS will be offered. For further information about the programme please visit the VU website: https://www.vu.lt/en/studies/bachelor-and-integrated-studies/medicine (Medicine), https://www.vu.lt/en/studies/bachelor-and-integrated-studies/dentistry (Dentistry).
IMPORTANT: the annual tuition fees for transferring students to year 2 will be similar to the tuition fees of admission year 2022: 11,000 EUR for Medicine, 12,960 EUR for Dentistry.
