A photo exhibition “Older Women Make the World More Beautiful“ was opened on the first floor of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, on 10 January, 2023.
As we mature in life our accumulated wisdom and experience can enrich our environment way beyond our close family. The exhibition, Older Women Make the World More Beautiful presents the works of 16 such women, members of the Soroptomist International organization, aiming to build a more beautiful and better world around for us all.
Later in life, women are free to devote their time and bring their expertise to different activities that enrich our broader society. This can take many forms, including the protection of our national heritage, organizing cultural events, campaigning for homeless children or for the environment and in some cases, founding schools and international organizations. These women are inspiring role models for all of us, especially for younger women, and can help create and promote strong, positive values.
The exhibition is open to the public until May 31, 2023.
Soroptomist International
Soroptomist International is a global, voluntary organization for professional women whose activities are aimed at improving the quality of life for women and girls in their local communities and around the world.
The organisation has over 91,000 members in 127 countries. Through the implementation of their projects, the women and girls are actively fighting for human rights, gender equality and achieving a dignified position in society.
