Research ethics and academic ethics are just a few areas within the broader topic of research integrity important in a scientist’s career. You are welcome to discuss these aspects of research integrity relevant to each researcher at an event Shaping a Culture of Research Integrity organised by VU on 3 October 2023.

The event will focus various aspects of research integrity, including research culture, psychological health, supervising research papers and fair and responsible research publication. Speakers will include guests from a number of universities who deal with the issues of research integrity on a daily basis and who wish to share key insights and provide advice.

One of the guest speakers is Jonathan Craig, Professor from the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University in Adelaide (Australia) and a former member of the WHO expert review panel. The event will also include other speakers who will explore various aspects of the culture of research integrity: Ronny Bruffaerts, Professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), Prof. Eugenijus Gefenas, Head of the Centre for Health Ethics, Law and History of the Institute of Health Sciences at the VU Faculty of Medicine and lecturer of medical ethics, Dr. Ana Ferreras, Senior Program Officer at the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and others.
