The Drug Utilization Research (DUR) summer school is a training in DUR for PhD students, researchers and civil servants/public health officials interested in the assessment of drug utilization, rational use of available medications and improvement of prescribing quality. During this course:
- Study designs and methods used in DUR will be presented.
- An overview of applied DUR research with examples will be provided.
- Attendees will develop research skills in drug utilization, get advice for future research and collaborate with other researchers.
The DUR Summer School course consists of lectures, seminars and workshops to provide participants with a thorough methodological background on drug utilization research (data sources, study designs, measurement methods, statistical/analytical methods, qualitative research methods, cross national studies) and examples of applications (DUR in older people, antimicrobials, adherence, DUR and health policy). Critical appraisal of the literature will be exercised in an interactive workshop in small groups. Participants will also present an overview of their own research and discuss it in small groups.
Dive into the world of Drug Utilization Research with our enlightening lectures, crafted around the principles outlined in the esteemed 2nd Edition: Drug Utilization Research. Methods and Applications.
