The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences annually organizes the Young Scientists and Doctoral Students Research Paper Competition. In 2023 February 21 The Presidium of the Academy decided to award prizes to the winners of Research Paper Competition, as well as letters of commendation to the participants of the competition.
We are delighted that two representatives of the Faculty of Medicine received recognition this year.
In the Department of biology, medicine and geosciences, one of the winners was Eglė Mazgelytė (PhD), for her research paper "Steroid hormones in hair assessing the level of chronic stress and its correlation with the risk of cardiovascular diseases".
The letter of commendation was awarded to student from medicine study programme Kristijonas Puteikis for the research paper "Cognitive functions of people with generalized epilepsy, their relationship with demographic and clinical characteristics" (supervisor Prof. Rūta Mameniškienė, PhD).
We congratulate the winners and wish them much success and inspiration for their further scientific activities!
