Prof. Makoto Suematsu is a renowned scientist and the President of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development. He is a member of several international organizations and also serves as a member of the International Advisory Board of Vilnius University’s Faculty of Medicine. In 2018, he was awarded the Lithuanian Order of Merit for Lithuania’s Officer’s Cross.
Prof. Makoto Suematsu leads the Central Institute for Experimental Animals in Japan, and the institute’s primary research areas include genetics, oncology, immunology, hematology, and more, making their collaboration spectrum broad. His scientific interests encompass microcirculation physiology, metabolomics, biomarkers, gas biology and medicine, rare diseases, oncology, hematology, and genetics.
