A photography exhibition by Simona Bakanauskaitė, a 6th year medical student, has been opened at the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, and will be on display until the summer. This is the second exhibition by this author hosted at the Faculty of Medicine. The first exhibition, Unnoticed Details, was held in 2020.

The main subject of Simona’s photographs is abstract photography. Between 2021 and 2023, Simona was a member and curator of the Vilnius University Photography Club. Her photography philosophy is characterised by minimal editing and highlighting simple, object existence.

“Changes in life are inevitable. It’s how we respond to them that varies. You can try to stop change, reverse it, loathe it, or even deny its existence, but you can also enjoy and admire change. Negative changes have their own charm. It’s not the tar that we are looking for in honey, but, vice versa, we are looking for honey in tar. Beauty and colours of life can be found in the most unexpected places – old garages, unwashed dishes, natural details, patterns, etc. So this exhibition encourages us to take delight in change more frequently,” Simona explained.
