On April 15-26 of this year, Indrė Trečiokienė, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, visited the University of Oslo in Norway. Amidst her internship, the scientist presented scientific projects on medication consumption research conducted at the Faculty of Medicine's Pharmacy and Pharmacology Center and the health data available for research in Lithuania.

Throughout the visit, together with the PharmaSafe research team led by Prof. Anne Gerd Granas, potential directions for joint research and collaboration opportunities in submitting international project applications were discussed. They visited the local pharmaceutical company "Ås produksjonslab," which manufactures pharmaceutical products under a manufacturing pharmacy license and specializes in the production of liquid non-sterile drugs and commercial products. Amidst the scientific visit, discussions were held on preparedness for extreme situations, the possibility for small local companies to secure the supply of medicinal products in case of supply disruptions, as well as requirements for the labeling of drugs and manufactured products. During the meeting with the founder and CEO of the startup "MedThings," Bjorn Toreid, possibilities for the application of digital technologies and the use of the innovative smart tablet dispenser "Mobili" in future projects and clinical practice were discussed.

We would like to remind you that Vilnius University, represented by the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, participates in the European Union-funded COST project CA19132 "European Network to Advance Best practices & technoLogy on medication adherencE" (ENABLE).
