Dear members of the Faculty of Medicine community – dear colleagues!

Congratulations to you all on the start of the new academic year! This special day reminds us that we are more than just lecturers, researchers or scholars. We are united by a common goal to advance science, to train the health professionals of the future and to contribute to the well-being of society.

On this occasion, I would like to emphasize the importance of our shared values—the pursuit of science, with a robust commitment to ethics, where responsibility and humanity are the pillars of our activities. I urge you all to uphold our tradition of strength in community, mutual trust, openness and respect for each other. Only by being united, and true to our mission and principles, can we build an environment where everyone feels valued and supported and, working together, achieve our meaningful goals.

This year, the faculty has welcomed more than 900 new students from Lithuania and abroad, onto our bachelor’s, integrated, and master’s study programmes. Let us welcome them into our community, help them gain knowledge, and together create another generation of doctors and health professionals. This year we are launching two new study programmes – Obstetrics taught in Lithuanian and Nursing taught in English. Let us join forces to ensure quality and continuity in these additional fields of study.

I’d like to wish all of you stimulating studies and research opportunities, meaningful discussions, successful projects and inspiring achievements. May this academic year bring new discoveries, and shared achievements, strengthening the reputation of both the Faculty of Medicine and Vilnius University even further.

See you at the Renovatio studiorum events!
