On October 6, registration opens for the traditional Vilnius University (VU) event “Student for a Day.” This event is a unique opportunity for school students and anyone interested to get a closer look at VU – to try out study programs of interest and ask important questions about the study process. This year, the Faculty of Medicine invites participants to attend as many as 104 lectures.

The Faculty of Medicine (MF) will offer in-person lectures at the faculty building (M.K. Čiurlionio St. 21, Vilnius), the Medical Science Centre (Žaliųjų Ežerų St. 2, Vilnius), the MF Institute of Dentistry (Žalgirio St. 115, Vilnius), Vilnius University Hospital "Santaros Clinics" (Santariškių St. 2, Vilnius), as well as in the faculty facilities located at Akademijos St. 4, Vilnius. Some lectures will also be held online or in hybrid format.

Laura Gataveckaitė, a first-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine, recalls that the event gave her the chance to explore Vilnius University’s spaces, study programs, and meet its lecturers.

"It’s always exciting to experience something new and to get a glimpse of what future student life might look like. I would definitely recommend that every school student take part at least once – especially if they manage to register for lectures that genuinely interest them. Attending the event is a great way to see whether a chosen field truly matches your interests. And if you don’t get into your preferred lectures, I suggest trying some that seem less relevant – you may discover new areas you hadn’t even considered," she advises.

This year, "Student for a Day" will take place on October 20–24, with registration for lectures opening on October 6 at 10:00 a.m. As spaces are limited, participants are encouraged to register responsibly and select no more than five lectures.

We also invite you to share this opportunity with school students and teachers in your community.
