Vilnius University (VU) students enrolled in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Medicine study programmes are invited to participate in the competition for the Lithuanian Canadian Foundation’s Eileen and Vincent Kadis Named Scholarships. The competition is open to students in the first-cycle, second-cycle, and integrated study programmes who are at least in their second year and meet the following criteria:
– their weighted average of study results for the most recent semester is no lower than 8;
– they are socially disadvantaged due to difficult financial circumstances, illness, or the death of a family member.
Applicants must complete an application for the named scholarship in the VU study Information System by 15 October 2026 and submit the following documents:
– a certificate of family composition issued by the Centre of Registers or the local municipality office (seniūnija) where the student is registered;
– certificates issued by the employer confirming the monthly income received by the student and their parents (guardians) during the last three months, or certificates issued by the State Social Insurance Fund Board (Sodra) confirming the person’s state social insurance status, or certificates confirming unemployment;
– additional documents proving that the student is socially disadvantaged (e.g. a copy of a disability certificate, a copy of the father’s and/or mother’s death certificate, etc.);
– documents confirming achievements in scientific research activities, if the student has been involved in research.
The scholarship is a one-time payment and will be awarded to three socially disadvantaged students who have achieved the best study results and, where applicable, the best research results. The awarded scholarships will be transferred to the students’ personal bank accounts specified in the VU study Information System. The scholarship amount is EUR 1,149 per student.
