On the occasion of the State Restoration Day, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, presented state awards for merits to Lithuania and for promoting Lithuania's name worldwide.
The President awarded Prof. Algirdas Utkus, a geneticist and the former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, with the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas for his long-standing active scientific, pedagogical and administrative activities.
