Freshmen Greeting at the Yard of the VU Faculty of Medicine. Student Representation of the VU Faculty of Medicine invites all the freshmen to gather together and get acquainted.

Academic Year Opening 2023 at Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine. First year students of Medicine and Dentistry study programs are invited to attend.

2:45 p.m.–3:30 p.m.

Vilnius University Staff, Students and Alumni Parade. Traditional parade of the Vilnius University students, professors, lecturers and alumni starts from the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania and marches down Gediminas Street (the main street of Vilnius), heading towards the central building of Vilnius University. During the parade, all the students of the Faculty of Medicine are invited to wear the Faculty’s symbol—a white gown.Note that the white gown with the logo of the Faculty of Medicine is a present to all the freshmen of 2023/2024 Bachelor’s, Master’s and Integrated study programs. Starting the academic year 2023/2024 ceremony RENOVATIO STUDIORUM at the Vilnius University Grand Courtyard. All VU staff, students and alumni are invited to participate.

Freshmen greeting at the VU Faculty of Medicine Yard. Student Representation of the VU Faculty of Medicine greets the freshmen and begins the program of the day’s events.

9:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m.

Mind fight for freshmen who will study in English held programs. Quiz organized by the Student Representation of the VU Faculty of Medicine. During the quiz the freshmen will have an opportunity to get more information about the studies and learn useful contacts as well. Bonus tour—Lithuanian phrases and words.

Gathering of the freshmen who will study in English held programs. Introduction of the representatives of Study Department and Student Representation of the VU Faculty of Medicine.

SURVIVAL GUIDE: Golden Advices. “Students for students” experience sharing organised by the Student Representation of the VU Faculty of Medicine. So-called lessons and advices of the senior students who have learned much in their study years will be awaiting the freshmen.

2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.

Orientation Games. Orientation games around the central part of Vilnius and the Faculty of Medicine will be organised by the Student Representation of the VU Faculty of Medicine. Various tasks and puzzles will lead the freshmen of Lithuanian and English held programs to the most popular and essential places to know! The games will culminate with awards.

5:30 p.m.

Cultural Evening. Cultural evening organised by the Student Representation of the VU Faculty of Medicine will unite and honour Lithuanian and foreign students, their countries and cultures. The freshmen will have an opportunity to present their country and culture, partake in traditional Lithuanian meals and together with a linedance collective try the cheerful Lithuanian folk dances!
