Moment of the John & Ida Valauskas Untouchable Capital Sub-Fund Scholarship awards / MF archive
The John & Ida Valauskas Endowment Sub-Fund Scholarships were awarded to the four best-performing students with the highest grade averages at the meeting of the VU Faculty of Medicine Council on 31st of March, 2026. The scholarships were granted to the 5th year student of the Medicine programme – Edgaras Zaboras and 5th year student of the Medicine (English) programme Nazar Haponchuk, as well as to the 4th year student of of Medicine programme Mindaugas Smetaninas and 4th year student of the Medicine (English) programme Perttu Kalle Mikael Riipinen.
The competition for the John & Ida Valauskas Scholarship is open to all students of the Faculty of Medicine with good grades, who have been studying for at least five semesters. The scholarships are awarded in March every year. Recipients of the scholarships are selected on the basis of academic achievements.
In 2022, the John & Ida Valauskas Fund was used to create an untouchable endowment sub-fund of the same name at the Vilnius University Foundation. The professional investment strategy will ensure not only the growth of the John & Ida Valauskas Sub-Fund, but also higher scholarship awards in the future.
