Dear Freshman,
This academic year, you'll not only begin your student journey but also have the opportunity to become a true hero of Lithuanian medical research. Start your student journey by becoming a true hero of Lithuanian medical research: donate a blood sample to the Biobank of the Lithuanian Population and Rare Disorders.
This population biobank, established within the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University, collects and stores a unique collection of biological samples from the Lithuanian population. By studying these samples, researchers are advancing the medicine of the future. Every donated sample is valuable and contributes to improving public health and saving thousands of lives in the years to come.
Joining this initiative is simple: all you need to do is provide your consent for your pseudonymized health information to be used for scientific research and donate a small 50 mL blood sample. The donation is intended for those who see their future in Lithuania. To receive it, a valid resident status and personal identification number are required.
Every blood sample donated today can help build a more advanced medicine tomorrow.

The blood sample collection campaign will take place on three occasions. You are welcome to attend at the time most convenient for you:
