As the Vilnius University Alumni Festival approaches, members of the VU community are sharing their memories of their university years, their favourite places at the University, and inviting everyone to return on 19 September to where it all began.

– Which place at Vilnius University brings back the most memories for you, and why?

– Well, there are many places that bring back memories, but, of course, the one that evokes the most is the Faculty of Medicine on M. K. Čiurlionio Street: the Great Lecture Hall, and the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Anthropology, with its collections and prosection room. The Faculty's English-language materials use the official name Department of Anatomy, Histology and Anthropology.

– If you had an hour to yourself at the University on 19 September, how would you spend it?

– I would probably walk through the entire University, starting at the Faculty of Medicine. I would then walk to the Central Campus on Universiteto Street and visit the reading rooms and the library.

– Why do you think it is worth attending the VU Alumni Festival?

– It is essential to take part, because this is about connection. A connection between different generations, between different colleagues, and between the past and the present – and perhaps even the future. That is why I believe it is very important for all of us to be together.
